Most cities across America have unique historic buildings in the older segment of their city or county boundaries. A percentage of these are not structurally sound and may be slated for condemnation for safety or because retrofitting them is too cost prohibitive.
Some of these buildings are historic treasures that can be brought back to their original charm, function and value with a great deal of thoughtful restoration. At Braestar Real Estate Development, we value the craftsmanship, materials and features that make these buildings unique.
In our restorations, we adhere to the highest construction standards to retrograde for safety and we add modern
amenities, while maintaining the historic qualities that make these buildings so special and worthy of a
second life in the 21st Century. We work closely with local governmental offices for historic preservation
and follow their guidelines, so our buyers can take great pride in these restored gems.
As a result, neighborhoods are being revitalized with each new property being restored.

American Cities and Suburbs go through economical cycles, during which specific areas will experience a new growth in building and housing followed by periods of abandonment and decay decades later fueled by the health or decline of local economies. Economic cycles are readily seen in downtown areas that were built first and offered local jobs to workers. Over time, the workers moved to areas outside the city called suburbs because housing was less expensive. Areas in the downtown areas, though close to work, businesses and restaurants, were abandoned and decline ensued.
Today, there is a resurgence of interest in urban living: a
willingness to live in smaller spaces closer to work while taking advantage of walking or mass transit instead of commuting from the
"Burbs". These urban communities are especially attractive to young professionals, both single and married. Renovation of
suburban housing has been a time-honored business practice, and is very important to the economic health of the suburban areas.
However, the trend for the “urban lifestyle” has brought about the resurgence of mixed-use buildings and conversion renovations
creating single family and multi-family residences in urban areas.
Braestar Real Estate Development is involved in facilitating both these trends with our projects. We are fully committed to
revitalizing American Communities.
